Top-rated independent heating and cooling across central Arkansas and the Arkansas River Valley

Whole-Home Dehumidifiers

We install and service whole-home dehumidifiers that tie into your ducts and pull moisture out of the whole house, not one room. Homeowners across Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas call us when the AC runs and runs but the air still feels damp, windows fog, or there is a musty smell in the hall closet. If that sounds like your house, call us and we will measure the humidity, look at the system you already have, and tell you what would actually change it.

What the job involves

A whole-home dehumidifier is a separate piece of equipment that sits near your air handler or furnace and gets its own ducting. We size it to the square footage and how leaky the house is, then decide whether it pulls from a return and dumps into the supply, or runs its own dedicated ducts. We add a condensate drain that actually drains, wire in a humidistat you can read, and set the target so it works with your cooling instead of fighting it. Most installs take a day. We run it and watch the numbers before we leave.

What we check before we install anything

We start with a humidity reading in a few rooms, because one number at the thermostat can hide a lot. Then we look at the obvious sources: crawlspace ground moisture, a bath fan venting into the attic, duct leaks in a hot attic pulling humid air into the system, and an AC that is oversized so it short cycles and never wrings water out of the air. We check the drain pan and line too. Sometimes the fix is sealing and airflow work, and we will say so.

How we decide it is the right call

If indoor humidity stays high with the AC running and the house is otherwise in decent shape, added dehumidification is usually the answer. That is common in river-valley and Gulf-side climates across the region, and in shoulder season when it is 68 degrees and soaking wet outside so cooling barely runs. We also recommend it when someone in the house has asthma or allergy trouble, or when a finished basement smells like a basement. If the real problem is a leak or bad ducting, we fix that first.

Whole-Home Dehumidifiers — quick answers

Will a whole-home dehumidifier make my AC repair bills go away?

No, but drier air lets your air conditioner run less to feel comfortable, which is easier on it. If your system is already struggling, we would rather handle the air conditioning repair first and talk humidity after.

Can I just use portable units instead?

Portables help one room and you empty the bucket. A ducted unit treats the whole house, drains on its own, and holds a set humidity level. If you are running two or three portables already, ducted usually makes more sense.

Where does the water go?

To a condensate drain, a nearby floor drain, or a pump we install if gravity will not cooperate. We route it so a clog does not end up on your ceiling, and we show you the line before we leave.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill out the quote form and describe what the system is doing. Warm air, short cycling, water on the floor, a smell, a noise. That detail tells us what parts to load on the truck.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant behaviour and the ductwork. You hear what we found in plain language before anything gets replaced or repaired.

  3. Step 3

    You approve the fix

We explain the repair, what it costs and what happens if you wait a season. Nothing gets done without your go-ahead, and we tell you honestly when a repair no longer makes sense.

Why homeowners call us

  • We know humid-climate systemsAcross the region the real enemy is moisture. Systems here run long hours pulling water out of the air, and that shows up as frozen coils, clogged drains and mildew smells. We diagnose for humidity, not just temperature.
  • Mixed gas and heat pump workPlenty of homes we visit run a heat pump with gas backup, and the two have to hand off cleanly. We troubleshoot both sides, including defrost boards, reversing valves, ignitors and heat exchanger concerns.
  • Attic ductwork is our daily breadMid-century homes often have ducts running through attics that hit brutal temperatures. Crushed runs, disconnected boots and leaking joints steal cooling before it reaches the room. We find them instead of blaming the equipment.
  • Repair before replaceA capacitor, a contactor, a blower motor or a clogged drain line fixes a lot of the calls we take. We would rather fix what you have and tell you plainly when the numbers stop working.
  • All major brands, gas & electricFrom Carrier and Trane to Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and Bryant, serviced independently.
  • Straight answersNot worth fixing? We say that out loud, and often it saves you the visit fee.
