What the job involves
A whole-home air purifier goes into the return side of your furnace or air handler, so every cubic foot of air the blower moves passes through it. Depending on the type, that means cutting and sealing a cabinet into the plenum, running low-voltage or line power to the unit, and confirming the blower can handle the added resistance. We do the sheet metal work, seal the joints, and test airflow afterward. Most installs take part of a day, and your system runs normally the same evening.
What we check and install
Before we quote anything, we check static pressure, filter size, return capacity, and how well your ducts are sealed, especially the runs through hot attics in older homes across the region. A purifier fighting leaky duct is a waste of money. From there we may fit a deep media filter cabinet, a polarized or electronic air cleaner, or an ultraviolet lamp aimed at the coil for biological growth. We match the equipment to your blower and to the problem you actually described.
How we decide it is the right call
Sometimes the answer is not a purifier. Persistent dust often traces to a return pulling attic air through a gap, and humidity complaints usually mean a sizing or dehumidification issue instead of a filtration one. We look for those first, because fixing them costs less and works better. If your filter loads up fast, if someone in the house reacts to indoor air year round, or if the coil keeps growing something, a whole-home purifier earns its keep. We will tell you either way.

Will a whole-home air purifier slow down my airflow?
It can, if the wrong one is fitted. That is why we measure static pressure first and size the cabinet to your blower. Done right, you should not notice any change in how the vents feel.
Does it replace my regular filter?
Usually not. Media cabinets take the place of a thin filter, but electronic cleaners and ultraviolet lamps work alongside filtration. We will show you exactly what to change and how often before we leave.
Will it help with humidity or odors?
Filtration and ultraviolet treatment help with odors tied to biological growth on the coil. Humidity is a separate job, handled by proper sizing, sealed duct, or a whole-home dehumidifier. Tell us what you smell and when.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill out the quote form and describe what the system is doing. Warm air, short cycling, water on the floor, a smell, a noise. That detail tells us what parts to load on the truck.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant behaviour and the ductwork. You hear what we found in plain language before anything gets replaced or repaired.
- Step 3
You approve the fix
We explain the repair, what it costs and what happens if you wait a season. Nothing gets done without your go-ahead, and we tell you honestly when a repair no longer makes sense.

Why homeowners call us
- We know humid-climate systemsAcross the region the real enemy is moisture. Systems here run long hours pulling water out of the air, and that shows up as frozen coils, clogged drains and mildew smells. We diagnose for humidity, not just temperature.
- Mixed gas and heat pump workPlenty of homes we visit run a heat pump with gas backup, and the two have to hand off cleanly. We troubleshoot both sides, including defrost boards, reversing valves, ignitors and heat exchanger concerns.
- Attic ductwork is our daily breadMid-century homes often have ducts running through attics that hit brutal temperatures. Crushed runs, disconnected boots and leaking joints steal cooling before it reaches the room. We find them instead of blaming the equipment.
- Repair before replaceA capacitor, a contactor, a blower motor or a clogged drain line fixes a lot of the calls we take. We would rather fix what you have and tell you plainly when the numbers stop working.
