The AC installation symptoms we hear most
- The AC runs all day and the house never gets to the thermostat setting Undersized or failing equipment, plus duct losses in a hot attic
- It cools but the air feels damp and sticky Poor dehumidification from oversized equipment or a mismatched coil
- We have already paid for two repairs this summer End-of-life compressor or refrigerant leak in an aging system
- One bedroom or the addition is always ten degrees hotter No duct capacity to that space, a candidate for a ductless mini-split
- The outdoor unit is loud enough to hear inside the house Worn compressor or fan bearings on an old condenser
Search for it as AC installation or air conditioner installation and you land in the same place: one visit, one written quote.
Safe things to check first
Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.
- 1 Check the thermostat: fresh batteries, set to cool, and the temperature actually lower than the room reading.
- 2 Look at the breaker panel for a tripped breaker on the air handler or outdoor unit circuit.
- 3 Change the filter if it is grey and matted. A blocked filter can mimic a failing system.
- 4 Clear grass clippings, leaves and shrubs back from the outdoor unit so it can breathe.

Should I repair my air conditioner or replace it?
It depends on the part that failed and the age of the equipment. A bad capacitor is a straightforward air conditioner repair. A failed compressor or a leaking coil in an older system usually means replacement makes more sense. We will show you both numbers.
How long does an AC replacement take?
Most straight-across replacements are a one day job. If we are reworking duct connections, moving the indoor unit or adding a new pad and electrical, plan on two days. We will tell you which before we start.
Do you have to replace the indoor unit too?
Usually yes. The outdoor unit and the indoor coil are designed to work as a matched pair, and pairing a new condenser with an old coil costs you capacity and often causes repeat problems. We will explain what your setup needs.
What is a ductless mini-split good for?
Rooms your ducts never reached well. Bonus rooms over a garage, enclosed porches, additions and upstairs bedrooms are common. A mini-split mounts on the wall with a small line set to an outdoor unit, so no new ductwork is needed.
Will new equipment fix my humidity problem?
Often, if the old system was oversized. Equipment that short cycles cools the air without pulling much moisture out. Correct sizing and longer run times handle humidity far better, which matters a lot in our part of the country.
Do my ducts need work when I replace the AC?
We check. Ducts run through attics leak, separate at joints and lose insulation over decades. Putting a new system on bad ducts wastes the capacity you just paid for, so we inspect them and tell you what we find.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill out the quote form and describe what the system is doing. Warm air, short cycling, water on the floor, a smell, a noise. That detail tells us what parts to load on the truck.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant behaviour and the ductwork. You hear what we found in plain language before anything gets replaced or repaired.
- Step 3
You approve the fix
We explain the repair, what it costs and what happens if you wait a season. Nothing gets done without your go-ahead, and we tell you honestly when a repair no longer makes sense.

Why homeowners call us
- We know humid-climate systemsAcross the region the real enemy is moisture. Systems here run long hours pulling water out of the air, and that shows up as frozen coils, clogged drains and mildew smells. We diagnose for humidity, not just temperature.
- Mixed gas and heat pump workPlenty of homes we visit run a heat pump with gas backup, and the two have to hand off cleanly. We troubleshoot both sides, including defrost boards, reversing valves, ignitors and heat exchanger concerns.
- Attic ductwork is our daily breadMid-century homes often have ducts running through attics that hit brutal temperatures. Crushed runs, disconnected boots and leaking joints steal cooling before it reaches the room. We find them instead of blaming the equipment.
- Repair before replaceA capacitor, a contactor, a blower motor or a clogged drain line fixes a lot of the calls we take. We would rather fix what you have and tell you plainly when the numbers stop working.

- Straight answersNot worth fixing? We say that out loud, and often it saves you the visit fee.
